The City of Brentwood is currently recruiting for a Building Official. The Building Official work involves administration of the City’s building, fire, plumbing, electrical and related codes as well as assisting with administration of the City’s zoning ordinance.  Provides plan review for commercial, industrial and residential projects and conducts inspections.  Provides staff support to the Architectural Review Board (ARB).  The Building Official must have graduated from a general or technical high school plus completion of two years college level course work in architecture, civil engineering, or a related field. Have experience reading engineering and architectural plans with respect to building, fire, electrical, mechanical and plumbing codes, plus considerable, progressively responsible construction and regulatory inspection experience. Have International Code Council (ICC) certification, including Plan Examiner, Commercial Inspection and Residential Inspection certifications. The starting salary is dependent on qualifications (DOQ) and experience.  A combination of education and experience will be considered.
