SLACE Seminar | Residental Mechanical and Plumbing Inspections Seminar

Thank you for your interest.   CLASS FILLED The Missouri Association of Code Enforcement and the St. Louis Association of Code Enforcement will present a seminar on Residential Mechanical Inspections and Residential Plumbing Inspections on Wednesday, February 8. Sign-in opens at 8:30 a.m. and the morning session gets underway at 9:00 a.m. There will be an hour break for lunch, followed by the afternoon session, which is scheduled to wrap up at 4:00 p.m.

The instructors are John Morgan, MCP for the mechanical portion and Art Genasci, MCP for the plumbing portion. The day of training will be held in the Municipal Courtroom at the Maryland Heights Government Center, located at 11911 Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights. Participants will receive .6 Continuing Education Units (CEU's).

The cost is $40 for current MACE/SLACE members and $80 for non-members. The non-member fee includes membership in both MACE and SLACE for the remainder of 2012. Coffee and donuts will be provided in the morning and lunch will be served mid-day.

INSTITUTE HIGHLIGHTS FULL-WEEK PROGRAMS
Seven days of ICC seminars covering numerous specialty topics
will be offered throughout the week. Linda Pieczynski returns
this year and will present a seminar on Legal Aspects for Property
Maintenance Inspectors. Steve Van Note, John Gibson and Kevin
Scott will present seminars on the changes to the 2012 IRC, IBC
and IFC. John Gibson will be presenting a seminar on Chapter 4
of the IBC. Sam Dardano presents two seminars on the 2012 IMC
and IFGC. There will also be fi ve days of seminars for fi re offi cials.
Steve Thomas, Colorado Code Consulting, will be returning to
present fi ve days of IBC and IRC specialty seminars.
MONDAY
Bill Joynes, Hamline University Associate Professor, will present
a seminar dealing with public sector leadership.
Greg Karow, Code Educational Opportunities, will present a
seminar from the fi eld inspector’s perspective.
Pat Coughlin presents a seminar on plumbing based fi re protection
systems for one- and two-family dwellings.
TUESDAY
Cari Williamette and Mario Monesterio, Westwood Professional
Services, present a seminar on solar & wind energy from the
inspector’s perspective.
Jim Nemastil and Marko Vovk present a seminar on major
defi ciencies in existing homes.
Tuesday Night Dinner Outing—Join your peers for a “spin on the
town.” There will be transportation available to a local restaurant
so that after an exceptional day of training you can get together
and enjoy an evening with other colleagues. Dinner is at your own

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Training

Ranken Technical College is offering a course on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) installation.
Students learn the basic types of photovoltaic systems and their applications for both stand-alone (battery backup) and utility interactive systems (grid tied). Students will learn about the PV system install, design, size calculations and installation safety. The student will be able to draw one-line electrical diagrams for interactive and standalone PV systems showing all major components and subsystems, and indicate the locations of the PV source and output circuits, inverter input and output circuits, charge controller and battery circuits.
