Subscription information
In the past, information on employment opportunities, seminars, etc. were posted on the website and e-mailed to a list of e-mails. Starting February 1, 2012, MABOI will change the way information is being disseminated. Information that is posted on the website will automatically be e-mailed to MABOI members via subscription. There are currently five subscriptions:
Why not just e-mail the information?
Using subscriptions allows users to update their e-mail address and easily subscribe and unsubscribe for the information, thus decreasing the effort of the website committee maintaining the e-mail list and providing the recipient to adjust the amount of information received from MABOI. In addition, information sent via subscription is duplicated on the website allowing users to have an archive of previous material.
Will everything on the website be sent via subscription?
No. Only information that fits into the current subscription categories will be e-mailed to subscribers. Additional information will be available on the website.
Am I already subscribed?
If you received this information via e-mail, you are already subscribed to one or more of the subscriptions. To start, all e-mail addresses provided when membership was paid during the calendar years of 2011 and 2012 were added to the subscription group. Please note: Certain AOL and O'Fallon e-mails were returned during the test run. If you are not receiving the subscriptions and would like to be included, please subscribe.
How do I unsubscribe?
A recipient can unsubscribe from the messages a few different ways:
1. You can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of an e-mail.
2. If you have a MABOI website account, you can click the “unsubscribe” button on the appropriate web page at MABOI.com.
3. If you have a MABOI website account, you can uncheck the appropriate check box on the newsletter block at the bottom of the website.
4. If you have a MABOI website account, you can edit your subscription preferences by editing your account/profile information.
Do you have to be a paying member to receive the information via subscription?
The charge of MABOI is to be a foundation of education. While paying members do provide some of the resources to fund this effort, the basic information is currently available to anyone interested.
Can my friend / coworker receive the information?
Additional people can subscribe to the service by creating a MABOI user login at http://www.maboi.com/user/register. Once the new login is activated (an e-mail will be sent), the new user can subscribe to newsletters. Please note, unless stated otherwise on the new login registration, all information added is available to be viewed by other registered users. More information regarding the establishment of profiles is coming soon.
If I accidentally delete the e-mail, where can I find the information?
E-mailed subscriptions are actually the same information as what is posted on the website. If you delete an e-mail accidentally, you can view the same information at www.maboi.com. Website information is found in the navigation menu; all other subscription information is found on the main menu (currently tabs on the top of the website).
What if I am not receiving the e-mails in the future?
You can e-mail admin@maboi.com for assistance. You should also ensure that no-reply@maboi.com and admin@maboi.com are considered safe-senders by your firewall or e-mail program. Because of the number of configurations possible, you will need to contact your e-mail provider or IT person for details on how to add the e-mail addresses to the safe senders list.
